Surf @ Portugal

After finishing my weekly run at Lisbon’s nearby Guincho, I decided to go down to the beach to take a look how the sea was and watch the young (and old) surfers showing their prowess on the board.
After 15 minutes, I concluded that surfing, at least on these parts, is not a sport but a social event. A pretext to show how good-looking they are in their suit, how flashy the board is and, while inside the water, to meet up with other fellows and, sometimes, give the trouble to catch a wave small enough not to embarrass. After that, return to the sand with a warrior-conqueror stand to impress the girls.
Sad.
